Betrayal on the Boat

You are all drifting three miles offshore on a boat that suddenly won't start, the shore a smudge of lights you were told to forget, and the case you crossed an ocean to protect is chained to the deck between you. Someone cut the fuel line on purpose, someone else radioed a second vessel now cutting toward you across the black water, and the man who hired you swore only one of you would ever step back onto land. The tide is turning and so is everyone's story. Name the traitor before the other boat arrives, throw the case overboard and level the game, or push off first and pray the water carries you. There is one working flare.
