Isaac Newton was born in 1643 in Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth, at Woolsthorpe Manor. He was educated at The King's School, Grantham, and later at Trinity College, University of Cambridge. He held the positions of Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, Warden of the Mint, Master of the Mint, President of the Royal Society, and Member of Parliament for two terms. He was knighted as a Knight Bachelor.
