Alexander the Great was born in Pella, Macedonia, and became king of Macedonia. He was a politician, military leader, and monarch. His father was Philip II of Macedon, and his mother was Olympias. He was a student of Aristotle and also studied under Anaximenes of Lampsacus. He died in Babylon.
Alexander was the son of Philip II of Macedon and Olympias. He married Roxana, Stateira, and Parysatis II, and had unmarried partners Barsine, Bagoas, Hephaestion, and Campaspe. His children included Alexandros IV of Macedon and Heracles of Macedon. He was influenced by and studied under Aristotle, and also studied under Anaximenes of Lampsacus.
