Three Questions, One Bridge

You all are pinned on a narrow stone bridge over a bottomless dark, and the thing coiled beneath it has just woken. It will let the party cross only if you answer its three riddles before the third torch burns out — and torch one is already dying. Every wrong answer costs it one of you, dragged screaming into the pit, and the beast lets each of you whisper your answer alone, so you can never be sure who is lying to save their own skin.
